L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side Montpellier are poised to sign 22-year-old striker Stephy Mavididi from Juventus on a permanent deal.
The player spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan with Dijon and told President Delcourt that he wanted to return to England and thus asked him not to activate the option to buy in DFCO’s agreement with Juventus.
It looks that this either wasn’t the case or didn’t matter.
He has been in advanced talks with Montpellier for weeks and is expected to arrive at MHSC at the beginning of this week to undergo a medical ahead of signing a long term contract in a transfer that will cost the Ligue 1 side around €5m.
RMC report that Stephy Mavididi also has an offer from Lille, but he is tending towards accepting Montpellier’s proposal, where it is likely he will see more considerable playing time.
