Right at the advent of winter, Kashmir valley has received its first snowfall of the season. Moderate snowfall was reported from upper reaches of Gurez valley in Bandipora district and Karan in Kupwara on Wednesday night.

According to reports up to 3 inches of snow had accumulated in Dawar as the night temperature also dipped.
