A baby boom is imminent at Ligue 1 club Marseille – winger Florian Thauvin yesterday announced the birth of his first child, Alessio, via Instagram.

“I have the honour of announcing the birth of my son Alessio. I am overwhelmed with love and surrounded by a fantastic family. I am so happy to have you close to me to smother you with love. Thanks to my wife who has given me the best present in the world. A brilliant wife who helps me move forward and overcome each stage (of life). We are now a trio and united for life. May God preserve us. I love you both.”

Meanwhile 20-year-old central defender Boubacar Kamara on the same day announced that his wife was expecting: “Love is here, a baby is coming soon,” the Marseille man added on Instagram.
