Fans were surprised to see Sami Zayn align himself with his former rival Kevin Owens a few months ago. Since then, the two have worked together to take down Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon. While the two have functioned well thus far, their time together may be limited. According to Cageside Seats, signs of Zayn and Owens beginning to turn on each other could start emerging during the WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble. The two will be competing against AJ Styles in a 2-on-1 handicap match and the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship. Expect to see the early stages of a possible split between the two friends very soon.
The women’s Royal Rumble is taking shape, and as of now, half of the participants for the match have been announced. Most of the current women’s roster is set to participate in the match. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE wants all of the women to be part of the match in some way. This likely means that Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair likely won’t be wrestling on the show, but they’ll be watching the match from ringside instead. Much like the men’s Royal Rumble match, this match is set to feature 30 women. It takes place at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 28th.
Enzo Amore has been dealing with a bout of the flu over the past few days. Amore is the latest in a supposedly long list of WWE performers who are also dealing with the illness. Enzo had to be pulled from his match against Cedric Alexander on Raw this past Monday night, and he was taken off of the upcoming Mixed Match Challenge show as well. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that Enzo Amore is doing better now and will likely be returning to television on Raw this Monday night. It was also noted that he may be doing well enough now to work some of the live events that WWE has planned for this weekend.
