– A video package starts the show recapping some of the highlights from this weekend’s NXT Takeover: Chicago special, headlined by an exhausting, brutal battle between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. A scroll ran at the bottom of the screen announcing the passing of wrestling legend Leon “Big Van Vader” White.

DAKOTA KAI vs. BIANCA BELAIR

Kai went right after her opponent with a series of rapid kicks and chops, but was quickly driven into the corner, as Belair drove her shoulder into the midsection over and over again, doing some serious damage to the ribs. Belair immediately slapped on an abdominal stretch to capitalize on her offense, but after a minute got board and connected with a wicked backbreaker. A decent “EST” chant broke out as she went for a vertical suplex, but instead bounced Kai off the ropes and deadlifted her back into the air, walking her around the ring to do the spot on each of the ropes before finally hitting the stalling suplex. The crowd went nuts for that spot. Kai struggled back and threw a few superkicks, trying to get back into the fight with a running kick in the corner, but she only gets a two-count.Belair nearly caught her by whipping around her hair, but it was a bait as she connected with a rolling elbow smash into the Torture Rack Slam to pick up the victory.

– The next 20 minutes were video packages recapping every match on the NXT Takeover: Chicago card, interwoven with various backstage promos that have already been on YouTube for the last four days.

WAR RAIDERS vs. THE MIGHTY

The Mighty threw their jackets in their opponent’s faces before the match started and took a bunch of cheap shots before the referee finally got things under control. Hanson turned Thorne inside-out with a stiff lariat and a running uppercut in the corner, but Miller took out Ray Rowe on the apron and The Mighty were able to use the distraction to take control of the bout. Miller nearly stole it at one point with a handful of tights AND his feet on the ropes. They built up to a hot tag to Warbeard Hanson who cleaned house and dove through the ropes with a monstrous suicide dive, taking down their opponents. War Raiders hit their tag team running powerslam combo, followed by Fallout for the win.
