Current UFC President Dana White recently commented on the Brock Lesnar situation. As WWE fans know, the Universal champion stormed the Octagon on July 7 at the behest of UFC champion Daniel Cormier. Lesnar shoved Cormier and had to be restrained.
Since then, both Lesnar and Cormier have insisted that a fight is indeed going to happen. However, White’s comments may cast a bit of doubt on that fight.
“I don’t know. One of the guys that I met with yesterday during PR told me that he had heard that Brock Lesnar just signed a bunch of new WWE deals.”

Lesnar did indeed sign an extension to remain in WWE but does that deal mean he cannot fight in the UFC?
“No, no it does not. So, we’ll see. Daniel Cormier’s hurt, so it doesn’t matter right now. I’m not working on stuff that needs to be done later. I’m working on stuff that needs to be done now.”
The Brock Lesnar situation has been a rollercoaster ride for WWE fans. While the fanbase understands that Brock does bring ratings and a big fight feel to the company, the fact is he’s never there. As a result of that, the Universal Championship is never defended.
Though the WWE faithful tends to lay the blame at Brock’s door for this, the truth is it’s the company itself that should be addressed. WWE books Brock on a certain number of appearances and once those appearances are honored, then Lesnar is done.
So why does WWE continue to book Brock Lesnar? Do the positives outweigh the negatives? It’s a topic that pro wrestling fans will surely continue to debate for some time to come.
