Updates on WWE Deals for Bryan & Hogan, Extreme Rules Main Event

Fans were pleasantly surprised when Smackdown Superstar Daniel Bryan admitted this week that he would likely be re-signing with WWE before his current contract with the company expires on September 1st. Multiple venues have begun advertising Bryan for WWE events that will be taking place after his reported contract expiration date, so it is definitely looking more and more like Bryan will be staying right where he is for the foreseeable future. According to Fightful.com’s Sean Ross Sapp, Daniel Bryan has reached a deal that will indeed see him stay with WWE. There is no word on how long this contract is reportedly for just yet, nor has WWE or Bryan confirmed that he has re-signed at the moment.

With Extreme Rules set to take place later on tonight, interest in the show has gone up quite a bit after it was confirmed that Hulk Hogan is currently backstage at the show. Hogan was reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier today, and fans have been left to wonder if this means that “The Hulkster” could be appearing on the pay-per-view tonight. Despite a report from PWInsider claiming that Hogan has not officially re-signed any sort of deal with the company, Fightful.com (seen in the tweet posted above) and the WrestleVotes Twitter account now say that he has reached a new deal after all. There is still no word on whether or not Hogan will be appearing in front of the crowd during tonight’s pay-per-view.

Per source, Hulk Hogan & WWE have agreed to terms on a contract allowing him to return. He is in Pittsburgh, home of tonight’s PPV. I cannot confirm whether he will make an appearance in some form at Extreme Rules. Time will tell.

Although some fans may be disappointed to learn that the match involving the WWE Championship won’t be headlining the Extreme Rules pay-per-view tonight, that does appear to be the case. It has just been reported by PWInsider that the last match that will be featured on tonight’s show will indeed be the singles match between Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley. The news comes after reports suggesting that officials were pushing for the Intercontinental Championship match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins to close out the show instead of the match between Lashley and Reigns. Although the WWE Championship match between Rusev and AJ Styles reportedly received very little support backstage, it was noted that the match is expected to be one of the last matches on the card tonight.
