WWE has officially announced that Samoa Joe will defend his United States Championship against Rey Mysterio at the upcoming WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view on Sunday, May 19th.
Joe dominated the lucha libre legend last month at WrestleMania, successfully defending his title in a shocking 30-second match on the grandest stage of them all. With Mysterio surprising the champ with a quick to even the odds last week on Raw, the rematch was made official for Money in the Bank.
The Samoan Submission Machine may have made things deeply personal this Monday night on WWE Raw, however. Joe was spotted stalking Mysterio’s son Dominik backstage, before cornering him in a dark hallway and screaming at the poor boy in order to send a message to his father.
.@SamoaJoe clearly has NO issue being the master of intimidation, and this time it's to @reymysterio's son backstage on #Raw! pic.twitter.com/qhCN9K1ru5
