As we noted earlier this week, WWE has announced that Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be appearing at the upcoming WWE UK Title tournament events taking place at Royal Albert Hall in London on June 18th and 19th.

According to Wrestling Observer Live, Michaels will be replacing NXT GM William Regal at the events, as Regal will no longer be making the trip with the WWE crew to The UK. Regal was originally scheduled to be at the UK events, however, for reasons unknown at this time, he will not be present for the tournament.

Michaels has been working as a backstage producer for WWE NXT so it’s possible he might be used to help produce the UK events as well, but his entire role for the shows remains unclear at this time.

It was noted that William Regal has not been released from WWE, and his absence from the upcoming UK events has yet to be explained.
