— PWInsider reports that Daniel Bryan will indeed not be traveling to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel this weekend, as first reported by Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports last week, and after Bryan told WWE officials that he wouldn’t be working the event. The company has begun creating an alternate plan which they haven’t made public nor likely finalized but could include a couple of options.

— The most obvious option would be to write out Bryan out of the program with Styles tonight on Smackdown (where the two are scheduled in some sort of confrontation segment) and replace him with another wrestler. If they go this route, one name being mentioned as a replacement is Rusev.

— Another, albeit more unlikely, option would be to try and quickly end the Styles-Bryan program by having a match tonight and move Styles to a new challenger for Friday’s PPV, though that would seem extremely rushed. The final option – which has already reportedly been nixed – is to pretape the Bryan/Styles match either tonight at Smackdown or sometime this week at the WWE Performance Center and then air it at Crown Jewel.
