Preview | Rennes vs Angers (12/02/15)

Rennes will be aiming to end their bad run of form as Angers visit Roazhon Park on Friday evening. The hosts have failed to win any of their last three league outings and have subsequently slipped from fourth to ninth in the table. If Rolland Courbis’ side want to finish in a European qualification spot, then they need to avoid being left behind by the rest of the chasing pack.

Angers, also, aren’t in the best of form right now, having lost four of their last five in the league. Their 3-0 victory over Monaco a couple of weeks ago may have been impressive, but that game was sandwiched in between losses to Nice, PSG, Reims and, most recently, Lyon. That run of results has seen Angers lose their grip on the Champions League qualification positions, falling to fifth in the standings.

Earlier this season, Rennes beat Angers 2-0 at the Stade Jean-Bouin thanks to goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and Gelson Fernandes.
