As 2018 comes to an end and the Royal Rumble event draws nearer and nearer, wrestling fans have begun speculating which WWE Superstars could win the Royal Rumble matches this year and go on to compete for a top title at WrestleMania 35. There have been several rumored matches for WrestleMania, but which match will close out the show? Some reports have claimed that a blockbuster match like Roman Reigns vs. The Rock was set to headline the event, while others have stated that WWE will put a women’s match in the main event slot for the first time in WrestleMania history. There can only be one match that gets the honor, but it appears now that the company may have decided on what that match will be.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan for WrestleMania 35 is for Becky Lynch to face Ronda Rousey in the main event of the show. The Observer notes that it could turn into a Triple Threat match with Charlotte Flair added to the bout. It’s also mentioned that Roman Reigns was set to headline WrestleMania 35 prior to his leukemia diagnosis earlier this year, and his opponent for the show most likely would have been Dean Ambrose. Rousey was then slated to face Natalya at the event, but those plans changed after Jim Neidhart’s death. Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey was selected as the ‘Mania main event next, but those plans changed once Lynch became a top star in the company and begun her feud with Ronda Rousey.
Mandy Rose has been on the main WWE roster for over a year now, and she has continued her alliance with Sonya Deville over the past few months. However, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that WWE is planning on giving Rose a huge push as a singles star very soon. The company is reportedly looking to give Rose a huge push much like they had been doing with Lana before those plans fizzled out. Mandy has been involved in a feud with Naomi on SmackDown lately, on this week’s episode, she attempted to flirt with Naomi’s husband, Jimmy Uso. Mandy has apparently impressed the right officials backstage during her short time in WWE, so expect the company to emphasize her talents quite a bit in the new year.
