Gerard Deulofeu reportedly remains keen on joining AC Milan as it’s suggested that a fresh move in the summer could be launched for the Spaniard.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a productive six-month loan spell with the Rossoneri in 2017, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 17 Serie A appearances.

Milan still don’t appear to have found a solution to their issue on the left wing since his departure, with Hakan Calhanoglu often played out of his more natural role in midfield while Samu Castillejo continues to be used sparingly.

In turn, as noted by Calciomercato, after a return to Milan failed to materialise in January amid intense speculation and a €30m price-tag from Watford, it’s suggested that Deulofeu remains eager to secure a second spell with the Italian giants and has even sent messages to sporting director Leonardo to communicate his desire.

With that in mind, it remains to be seen whether or not the club revisit the idea in the summer, as much will perhaps depends on whether or not they successfully secure a Champions League qualification spot this season as they remain in fourth place in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Sportmediaset report on the contract renewal situation regarding five first-team players, as it’s suggested that Cristian Zapata, Jose Mauri and Ignazio Abate could all be in line to earn new deals.

However, in contrast, neither Riccardo Montolivo nor Andrea Bertolacci are expected to reach an agreement, with the pair failing to make an impression under coach Gennaro Gattuso and are seemingly surplus to requirements.

While it may well be important for Milan to continue to strengthen the squad, it seems as though they will have to make sensible decisions on who leaves too in order to create space and financial flexibility while avoiding a situation in which they offload too much depth.

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez has dropped a hint he’s set for a transfer to Arsenal by liking a post about their win over Cardiff on Instagram.

The Spain international has been strongly linked with a loan move to the Emirates Stadium, with Fabrizio Romano tweeting that a deal looks to be agreed.

According to Goal, City are now ready to join the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona in keeping an eye on Jovic ahead of this summer, in what would be an exciting move to strengthen their attack.

Pep Guardiola already has a world class list of forwards to choose from, but Jovic could be seen as an upgrade on Gabriel Jesus, whilst also providing the club with an ideal long-term successor to Sergio Aguero.

Chelsea’s need for the Serbian is arguably greater due to their issues up front, with loan signing Gonzalo Higuain yet to make much of an impact since being brought in to provide an upgrade on the likes of Olivier Giroud, Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi, the latter two of whom have been sent out on loan.

Luka Jovic to Manchester City or Chelsea?

Manchester United may be in luck regarding their rumoured transfer pursuit of Juventus winger Douglas Costa.

The Brazil international has been linked with the Red Devils in the past and the Daily Mirror claim he could be prepared to consider a change of club this summer.

A real flair player who’s shone at a number of big clubs, Costa seems an ideal purchase for Man Utd at the moment after the struggles of Alexis Sanchez.

The 28-year-old would surely be an upgrade on Sanchez, having been a key player for Juventus and for his former side Bayern Munich in recent years.

It remains to be seen how he could adapt to Premier League football, but it’s encouraging from a United point of view to see that he’s seemingly open to a new challenge.

Douglas Costa has been linked with Manchester United

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is claimed to be house hunting amid links with the Manchester United and Chelsea jobs.

This is according to pundit and former Spurs midfielder Michael Brown on BBC 5 Live yesterday, as quoted by the Daily Star.

Despite long being linked as a top target for Man Utd following Jose Mourinho’s departure earlier this season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only being placed in charge until the end of the season, the Express have recently claimed the Red Devils face competition from Chelsea for the Argentine.

Still, Brown has suggested he’s heard Pochettino is house hunting in Manchester, so it may still be that a move to Old Trafford is the most likely next move for the Spurs boss.

“Yes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s gone and won, yet again,” Brown said.

Arsenal have reportedly asked about a somewhat ambitious move to take Eric Bailly on loan from Manchester United in this January’s transfer window.

The Gunners are short of options in defence after an injury to Rob Holding earlier this season and it makes sense that manager Unai Emery would be keen on some cover.

However, it is little surprise that United are not keen on strengthening a top four rival and have knocked back Arsenal’s approach for Bailly, according to the Mail.

The Ivory Coast international is also said in the report to be keen on continuing to fight for his place at Old Trafford, despite enduring a difficult season.

Still, there seems a chance for most Red Devils players to make a fresh start now following the sacking of Jose Mourinho last month.

Eric Bailly Arsenal transfer approach rejected by Manchester United

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing up an ambitious transfer swoop for Tottenham striker Harry Kane to replace Romelu Lukaku.

According to Don Balon, the England international is an audacious target for Man Utd, having also been linked with Real Madrid, though they have now been offered the signing of Lukaku.

The Belgium international isn’t having the most convincing season at Old Trafford, but could fill an important role at the Bernabeu following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure last summer, while 31-year-old Karim Benzema will surely also need replacing soon.

United, meanwhile, will understandably feel Kane is a major upgrade on Lukaku after his prolific record in the Premier League down the years.

In total, the 25-year-old has 160 goals for Spurs, plus 20 in 35 caps for the England national team.

Manchester United have reportedly offered Juan Mata a new one-year contract amid transfer links with Arsenal and other top clubs.

This latest update comes from a report in the Evening Standard, and while they do not mention Arsenal as being among his admirers, it was only a few days ago that the Daily Mirror linked Mata with the Gunners.

The former Spain international also makes sense as a target for Arsenal right now given their situation with Aaron Ramsey, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Mata also plays a similar role to Mesut Ozil, who remains out of favour with Unai Emery this season.

The Evening Standard also link Juventus and Barcelona as being among Mata’s suitors, with the 30-year-old said to be open to a move to Italy in particular.

Arsenal’s loan bid for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has been rejected by the Italian giants, the Gunners’ proposition for the winger simply isn’t good enough for the San Siro club.

According to Sky in Italy, Arsenal offered the Nerazzurri a loan fee of £4.4m for Perisic, their proposed deal included an option to buy the 29-year-old for £34.5m.

Unai Emery is stuck in the mud at Arsenal, it’s understood that the Gunners only have the finances to facilitate loan moves in the January transfer window but Inter see loaning out Perisic – who will turn 30 in February – as unfeasible.

The move could be edging closer as Italian journalist Fabrizio Ramano revealed that the Croatian has handed in a transfer request:

Perisic has been in poor form this season, which is surprising given his exploits at the World Cup last summer. The winger has only scored three goals and contributed two assists in 18 Serie A appearances this season.

Given Perisic’s poor form this season it’s unlikely that Arsenal would be able to justify a loan move for the World Cup finalist with an obligation rather than an option to sign him in the summer, this is really too much of a gamble for the Gunners to take and they should identify other attacking targets.

Arsenal’s initial bid for Perisic is audacious at best.
