During the latest Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer, Mark Henry gave high praise to Jay Lethal ahead of the G1 Supercard show this weekend.

Mark Henry discussed how proud he is of Lethal for headlining MSG this weekend:

“Jay Lethal, you are a friend, but more than that you are a contemporary. You deserve to be spoke of in the same breath as The Rock, a Ron Simmons, a Booker T, a Mark Henry,” he said. “The list goes on of African American wrestlers that have paved the way throughout history. You are setting the stage for the two or three generations after you. […] I am very proud that you’re headlining Madison Square Garden.”

He went on to compare Lethal’s match with Kofi Kingston’s at WrestleMania:

“The mirror of you [Lethal] and Kofi both at the same time. When people say, ‘well, there’s no African American influence in wrestling.’ I’ll be damned if there’s not an African American influence. Jay Lethal and Kofi Kingston are at the top of the game right now. Right now.”

Jay Lethal will defend his ROH Championship at the G1 Supercard in a ladder match against Matt Taven and Marty Scurll in the main event.
