Madison Rayne has enjoyed a career resurgence in 2018. The former Impact Knockouts champion looks better than ever and she has turned a corner with her recent work in WWE. The Ohio native spoke to the Coshocton Tribune regarding her decision to keep wrestling, 13 years after her debut.
“We made the decision it wasn’t quite time for me to retire yet. While I had done a lot, I had still left a few stones unturned and I wasn’t going to settle with closing this chapter until I had literally done everything I could in wrestling,” Ashley said. “I didn’t have in mind ‘I have to do this and I have to go here and I have to wrestle on this big stage.’ I just knew I wanted to make this chapter matter and be meaningful.”
Rayne also spoke about getting back in top form, including reinventing herself as an in-ring performer.
“I literally went back to day one to reinvent and recreate who I was going to be in the ring,” she said. “This year I’ve been everywhere and done just about everything. So I’m happy with the decision I made to keep going.”
Rayne is in the midst of a new one-year deal with Ring of Honor Wrestling. Her work in WWE came during The Mae Young Classic in the fall of 2018, where she competed as Ashley Rayne.
