Flood Situation Improves In Maharashtra, Karnataka; Red Alert In Two Districts Of Kerala

After nearly two weeks of mayhem, the flood situation across western and southern India has shown signs of improving as the intensity of the rains have reduced.

Maharashtra, one of the worst affected states is on the way of recovery post the deluge which devastated Sangli and Kolhapur districts.

According to the Maharashtra Government estimate, the state has suffered losses of Rs 6813.93 crore in the floods. This includes some 1.39 lakh houses that have been damaged. A total of 43 people have lost their lives in the state in flood-related mishaps.
