Christian Matsima looking to leave Monaco

RMC Sport report that Monaco defender Christian Matsima is looking to leave the club, having seen little playing time since the start of the season.

The 19 year old, who is under contract until 2025, is looking for a permanent move away, while the club would prefer to send him out on loan.

Matsima has played a total of 59 minutes this season, having made 11 appearances last season. Talks are said to be underway with several German clubs, with the centre-back seemingly not in manager Niko Kovač’s plans – he has been out of the matchday squad since October 21.

Nice interested in Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard

Foot Mercato report this afternoon that Nice are interested in signing Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard, with manager Christophe Galtier particularly interested in bringing him in.

The 29-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, has yet to start a Premier League game this season for the Red Devils.

While Newcastle and West Ham, as well as several Spanish clubs, had been interested in him, Les Aiglons now appear to have entered the race to sign the England international.

Nice had already been linked to Lingard last year, with the midfielder’s contract expiring at the end of this season. However, a deal appears financially difficult for a club in Ligue 1 – although not necessarily impossible.

Worcester rugby future at risk after players' contracts terminated

Worcester's Premiership future is hanging by a thread after the club was partially liquidated on what director of rugby Steve Diamond labelled the "darkest day for English rugby".Players and staff will have their contracts terminated after part of the Premiership Rugby club was wound up in the High Court on Wednesday.British tax authorities are pursuing the club for unpaid tax of about £6 million ($6.8 million).Judge Nicholas Briggs instructed that WRFC Players Ltd, a subsidiary of WRFC Trading Ltd through which players and some staff are paid, be wound up.A winding-up petition against WRFC Trading Ltd, which remains in administration, has been suspended.Despite hope that a buyer can be found, the club could face automatic relegation to the Championship due to being placed in compulsory liquidation.Worcester's matches against Gloucester and Harlequins were cancelled on Monday.Rugby Football Union (RFU) chief executive Bill Sweeney said: "The RFU will continue to speak to the administrators, and potential buyers, during the course of the next 24 hours to understand the possibility of a buyer taking over the club in time for the men's team to participate in the Gallagher Premiership during season 2022-23."Former Force backrower Fergus Lee-Warner, Ted Hill, Ollie Lawrence and Valery Morozov have already joined rival Premiership club Bath on loan and others will follow them out of the door, along with members of staff.Because they had not been paid for September, all players would have been able to leave on October 14, meaning that liquidation has brought their departure forward by nine days."This is the darkest day for English rugby," Diamond wrote on Twitter."We thought we could turn the tanker around but it's ended up like the Titanic, sadly. The ship has sunk, the captains are nowhere to be seen."Hill tweeted: "What an unbelievably sad day for everyone in Worcester."A club who meant so much to everyone has gone the direction none of us wanted it to. A place where I played my rugby from 14 years of age and met so many people who mean so much to me and my family."- 'Learn lessons' -The Rugby Players Association called for "lessons to be learned"."The RPA is extremely saddened to hear of the liquidation of WRFC Players Limited," a statement read."We stand with all Worcester employees. Our immediate thoughts are with all the players and staff who have lost their jobs today due to this terrible situation."We will continue to support our members in all ways that we can throughout this hugely challenging and difficult time, as we have done since it became clear that the club was in financial trouble."There are fears that other English Premiership clubs could also face a bleak future — the collective debts of all 13 Premiership clubs are estimated at more than £500 million.Wasps, twice European champions, have announced their intention to appoint administrators after failing to meet a May deadline to repay £35 million in bonds, which helped finance their relocation to Midlands city Coventry from London in 2014. Click Here:

Bordeaux president Gérard Lopez: “It looks like the players’ brothers are playing”

After his side’s 2-0 home loss to fellow strugglers Troyes, Bordeaux president Gérard Lopez spoke to L’Équipe on the issues at the club that have left them bottom of Ligue 1. Lopez said: “If I could put on some boots and play, I would. That’s what’s frustrating. I know what’s being done during the week but on game day it looks like the players’ brothers are playing.”

What is your reaction after this defeat?“There’s big disappointment because we have players who are intrinsically stronger than what they’re showing on the pitch. We have two big problems: Firstly, we work on things during the week and, as soon as we suffer a setback, we no longer stick to our game plan. Secondly, psychologically, we can’t blame them.. but we’re getting the impression that our players are playing with an unpinned grenade as soon as they get the ball.”

The club strengthened in January and changed coach in February. What are the solutions today?“It’s useless for an attacker to score in the top corner from 20 meters out if we don’t all respond as a team… This isn’t a club where a few friends meet on Sundays to kick a ball about. It requires commitment, 120% concentration and respect for the game plan. Modern football isn’t just about running and showing goodwill. You have to look at everyone individually.”

PSG among contenders for Benfica’s Darwin Núñez

The Athletic report that Paris Saint-Germain are among the leading clubs interested in young Benfica striker Darwin Núñez, along with Manchester United and Chelsea.

The 22-year-old Uruguayan has scored 31 goals in all competitions this season, and has been valued by his club at €70m with his contract expiring in 2025. The Athletic add that the forward is especially an option for Les Parisiens should Kylian Mbappé leave and a move for Erling Haaland fall through.

RMC Sport report that Núñez has previously been the target of other Ligue 1 clubs, namely Lyon and Rennes, with then-manager of the latter club Julien Stéphan praising the Uruguayan international in the past.

'Everyone knows the maths': Wallaroos embracing World Cup pressure

Wallaroos prop Emily Robinson is embracing the pressure of a must-win clash against Scotland on Saturday. The Wallaroos will fancy their chances against the 10th-ranked Scottish, playing the Six Nations side for the first time in nearly 20 years. They are itching to bounce back after a disappointing finish to their opening match against the Black Ferns, with their rapid start undone by 41 unanswered points. The trip up to Whangarei comes at a perfect time, a stark difference from the record crowds and ceremonies that met them in Auckland.Robinson believes the experience will benefit the young side heading forward as they look to secure their spot in the knock-out stages.“We know what the job is now. The first game there was a lot of moving parts and a big day in terms of Women’s Rugby,” Robinson told Rugby.com.au.“I think playing against New Zealand was always the big one, a lot of girls’ first World Cups and their experiences of that so now that’s done, we’ll be better for it.“We were pretty disappointed in ourselves and everyone is focused on getting the job done. There’s a calming factor knowing where we went wrong and how to fix it, and everyone is on the same page.”“It’s pretty nice and quiet up here in Whangarei so it’s great to come up here and reset,” winger Ivania Wong added.“We’ve definitely noticed that lift in intensity since that opening game against New Zealand. Obviously, we didn’t get the result but we’ve taken positives from that game and can’t wait to go out there this weekend."Robinson is taking inspiration from their previous World Cup campaign in 2017, with the Wallaroos dropping their first game against Ireland before defeating the hosts in the 5th-8th place playoff to qualify for this event. The front rower believes they need to take a similar attitude into the final two pool games, welcoming the added scrutiny and pressure that comes with it.“I think we need to back ourselves," she believes. "I think that second game against Ireland in Ireland (at Rugby World Cup 2017), we just backed ourselves and wanted to win. We knew we had to win to qualify for this World Cup and we put that pressure on ourselves.“We know we have to win this game to get out of the pools and this is what we’re here to do. I’m ok with pressure, I’m happy to have and put it on me, I want to play and be in that team and win.“Everyone knows the maths and everyone’s aware of what has to happen and we’re ready to do that.”Click Here: cricket jerseys

Pone problem sours Australia A fightback in 15-try shootout in Japan

A tour-threatening hamstring injury to powerful Wallabies prop Pone Fa’amausili took gloss from Australia A’s 15-try shootout in Osaka tonight. The fighting qualities from the Australian outfit had to be admired even in a high-scoring 52-48 loss because time and again they rallied when behind for the whole match. The men in gold scored eight tries to seven as the tempo of the clash in perfect conditions more resembled a frantic T20 cricket match. Two-try flanker Brad Wilkin, experienced lock Ned Hanigan and winger Mark Nawaqanitawase all excelled. Replacement halfback Ryan Lonergan sparked the second half comeback with his smart service, Dylan Pietsch showed his finishing ability with two tries, prop Tom Robertson never stopped and fullback Tom Banks booked his Wallabies tour to Europe with an alert 80 minutes and excellent kicking.  Fa’amausili limping off after 20 minutes may ruin his shot at a European tour with the Wallabies. He was positioned at a ruck with legs spread for a jackal when his right leg was strained by a Japanese cleanout.  It was a major shame because the giant prop had already stamped his 132kg imprint on the game with a powerful surge to the tryline after a clever front-of-the-lineout move for Australia A’s first try.     With only two weeks until the Wallabies play their first Test in Europe against Scotland at Murrayfield early on October 30 (AEDT), he will certainly be sidelined for that. It’s only the fact the tour stretches to five Tests that coach Dave Rennie might consider still taking him so he’s fit again by mid-tour. The Japanese wasted no time in showing how desperately they wanted to win after blowing leads in the opening two games of the series. The home side scored at a point-a-minute to lead 28-7 before the fighting qualities of the Australians surfaced. Lock Ryan Smith stole a lineout and the A team pressured with two penalties that fullback Banks kicked to touch for 5m lineouts. From the second of those, hooker Lachie Lonergan plunged over at the back of a rolling maul for the first of his two tries. Better was to come with precise passing putting flanker Rory Scott into space for a sprint to the tryline. The final long ball from centre Hamish Stewart was a beauty under pressure. The scores tightened to 28-19 before the Japanese struck again on half-time for 35-19 with Test winger Kotaro Matsushima on the end of a slick chain of passing. “I’m very proud of the fightback in the second half. We could have rolled over but we got ourselves back into a position to win it,” second half captain Ryan Lonergan said of getting to 45-43 with 12 minutes to play. Lonergan said future tours to Japan at all levels would be beneficial to Australian rugby because “the way they approach the game is like nothing else.” Australia A coach Jason Gilmore elaborated when praising the catch-and-pass skills of the Japanese, their precise kick-offs and core skill development. Gilmore was delighted with how far former sevens player Pietsch has come this year. “He’s just improved every week. What you see is what you get. He runs hard and competes, wants to be the best and he’ll get you a turnover as an ex-backrower,” Gilmore said. Shifting Hanigan from the backrow to lock was productive. “Ned maybe wasn’t a fan but it brought him into the middle, rather than on the edge, where his high workrate, carries and breakdown skills were really productive,” Gilmore said. “Overall, the tour has been excellent on and off the field.” The A team had to rally from 42-19 down when the Japan XV’s Australian-born lock Jack Cornelsen scored just two minutes into the second half after impressive backrower Michael Leitch had flipped a kick-catch inside to him. A Wilkin pick-and-go try and another to finish off a Nawaqanitawase quick tap under the posts closed the gap to 45-31. A turnover on the hour mark became blindside gold when Ryan Lonergan fed the ball to the left. Hanigan’s over-the-top pass basketball-style found hooker Lonergan, who dashed 25m for the score and a tightened 45-38 game. Nawaqanitawase outplayed Suliasi Vunivalu on the wing with his superior rugby instincts and ability to get involved. On full-time with the game gone, Nawaqanitawase broke a tackle to force a gap no one thought existed. His kick ahead was expertly grabbed by centre Isaac Henry. The ball was recycled and spun to the other side of the field for the Pietsch finale. Vunivalu had excellent moments too in his 40 minutes with a lovely offload to No.8 Seru Uru, a pop ball and some surging metres. Being bumped off in defence for one try was less glorious. One lovely flat ball at the line from replacement Tane Edmed for the first Pietsch try was the best flyhalf play of the night but you have to sense that Ben Donaldson is further up the pecking order for a Wallabies tour.   JAPAN XV 52 (T Tatafu 2, R Yamanaka, K Matsushima, D Riley, J Cornelsen, F Makisi tries; S Lee 6 con, pen goal, T Yamasawa con) beat AUSTRALIA A 48 (B Wilkin 2, L Lonergan 2, D Pietsch 2, P Fa’amausili, R Scott tries; B Donaldson 2 con, R Lonergan 2 con) Half-time: 35-19 Japan XV Click Here: qld maroons shirt

PAOK coach Razvan Lucescu: “Now I’m supporting Marseille.”

Click:楼凤app

Following Greek side PAOK’s elimination from the Europa Conference League at the hands of Marseille last night, Romanian manager Razvan Lucescu spoke to Canal+.

“I can say we’re disappointed with the result today because I think we played very well, we created a lot of chances. Marseille knew how to take advantage of our only error but that shows the great quality and experience at this level. But as you said, it’s the pride of having played very well and having got to this point for the first time in the club’s history.”

Asked about Marseille’s chances for the rest of the tournament, the Romanian responded:

“For me, Marseille are a very organised team, with a lot of good players, with quality, so I would say that they are the favourites for me. And now, I’m supporting Marseille. I want them to win! Now that we’re out of the competition, after playing against them, I want them to win.”
