Net closes in on the Maltese elite linked to corruption, dirty money and murder

A fortress city of stone redoubts, ramparts, bastions and forts, Valletta has long been used as a backdrop for historical epics like Gladiator, Troy and Game of Thrones.

But Malta’s capital – dubbed the Mini Hollywood of the Mediterranean – is living through a real-life drama that has all the elements of a thriller, from sleaze and corruption to dirty money and murder.
