UFC News: Lyoto Machida vs. Yoel Romero, International Fight Week gets 3rd show, date changes (updated)

The UFC announced some changes to shows Friday, as well as adding a third event for International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

A 6/27 Brazil date will now be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, FL, headlined by Lyoto Machida vs. Yoel Romero and co-headlined by Erick Silva vs. Rick Story. Tickets for the show will go on sale Monday.  The show will also be the finals of the currently airing season of TUF Brazil.

A 7/12 date originally announced for south Florida — the finals of the current U.S. season of The Ultimate Fighter — has been moved to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with Jake Ellenberger vs. Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson as the main event. That bout was originally scheduled for the 7/11 UFC PPV the night prior. Jorge Masvidal vs. Cezar Mutante Ferrerira was also booked for the 7/12 event.

The Benson Henderson vs. Michael Johnson, previously the main event for the 7/12 event, will no longer be on that event.  There has been no announcement made regarding if or when that match will take place.

Currently, there are three events in Las Vegas that week, the same week of our annual Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Weekly website convention. There is a Friday, 7/10 Invicta show headlined by Cris Cyborg, the aforementioned Saturday, 7/11 PPV from the MGM Grand headlined by Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor for the featherweight title and Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald for the welterweight title, plus the new 7/12 TUF finale show.
