Earlier this year, Andrade “Cien” Almas was promoted to WWE’s main roster. Almas had a tremendous last few months in NXT as the champion of the brand. The formerly masked wrestler impressed fans in matches against the likes of Johnny Gargano, so those same fans were optimistic for his future in the company. Almas was called up to the SmackDown roster along with his manager, Zelina Vega, and the two continued to make an impact in WWE for a little while. Almas received further praise following matches against the likes of AJ Styles just a couple of months ago, but lately, fans have felt that the former NXT Superstar has become a bit lost in the shuffle on the SmackDown roster. Apparently, Andrade himself may feel that way as well.
Andrade “Cien” Almas is reportedly no too please with his current role on WWE television. According to SuperLuchas, Almas does not like where he in in the company at the moment and is hoping for a change very soon. Dave Meltzer also noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that CMLL star Rush turned down an offer to join WWE earlier this year because he is friends with Andrade, and he’s aware of how unhappy he is at the moment. Almas revealed back in March that he thought about leaving WWE a while back before former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio convinced him to stay on board. It seemed like WWE had huge plans for “El Idolo” upon his SmackDown arrival, so it will be interesting to see what lies ahead of him as his WWE career continues.
It’s been months since there has been any word on the future of the Something Else to Wrestle With podcast. The podcast, which is a spinoff of the popular Something to Wrestle With podcast featuring Bruce Prichard and Conrad Thompson, premiered on the WWE Network earlier this year. It continued dig deep into Prichard’s past in WWE, but after a successful first season, will the show be coming back? There were some reports earlier this year stating that it would be returning soon, but Thompson noted on the most recent edition of the regular podcast that those have been posted “prematurely.” Thompson says that he and Prichard would love to return to the WWE Network, but updates on the show’s future will be posted on social media or during the podcast itself. Conrad’s update can be heard on episode 134 of the podcast, where he and Bruce discussed Monday Night Raw from December 22nd, 1997.
