Speaking on the club’s official website, OGC Nice President Jean-Pierre Rivière made a statement on alleged racist abuse that Mario Balotelli suffered at the weekend in Dijon.
“We have taken the time to consult with different parties before making a statement on the subject. We find it deplorable that Mario had to suffer another incidence of racism. It is inexcusable, and we must unfortunately remind ourselves that this is not the first time that he has suffered this since he came to our league. He has all our support. As the coach of Dijon, Olivier Dall’Oglio said, you are not safe from “one or two morons”. That is also our view, and Mario did not want to say anything after the match… We are all convinced of the same thing, racism has no place in a football stadium, or anywhere.”
