EC3 was officially named a WWE Raw Superstar last night, but one WWE Hall Of Famer has questioned WWE’s decision to move him to the main roster.
EC3 has struggled to make a mark since moving to the main roster earlier in the year, often being used in backstage segments where he would simply stand and admire himself in a mirror.
The former TNA star has had limited in-ring time, with a few matches against Dean Ambrose and this week he was destroyed by Braun Strowman who Chokeslammed him through the stage.
Bully Ray questioned why WWE has moved him to the main roster, stating that the company destroyed him from day one on the main roster, adding that he should have stayed in NXT for longer and been allowed to thrive.
IMO…
Whats the point of bringing up EC3 only to destroy him from day 1 on main roster??
Should have been left to thrive in NXT until right time.#RAW@BustedOpenRadio
“#about yesterday.

The July 30 episode of SmackDown averaged 2.043 million viewers on Fox, down 4.4 percent from the previous week.
It’s the third straight week that SmackDown’s audience has been above two million viewers, which coincides with the return of fans and live touring.
In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown drew a 0.57 rating, up 3.6 percent from the previous week. The total number of 18-49 viewers was 742,000, a 33,000 viewer increase from the July 23 episode.
SmackDown has held up well over the first two weeks of Olympic competition, and they’ll go head-to-head with the Olympics one more time before the Olympics conclude.
As compared to this week in 2020, SmackDown was up 7.9 percent in overall viewers and up 14 percent in 18-49. It’s the third straight week — and the fourth week in the last five — where SmackDown has had double-digit year-over-year increases in the key demo.
As compared to the 10-week average (as shown in the chart below), SmackDown was up 2.2 percent in overall viewers and up 9.6 percent in 18-49:
Samoa Joe successfully defended his United States Championship at WWE Fastlane in a fatal four-way against R-Truth, Andrade, and Rey Mysterio. After the match, Joe spoke with WWE’s YouTube channel where he declared himself to be unstoppable.
WWE has released the following video, confirming that Triple H will be making a rare appearance on NXT television this Wednesday night in order to address the future of the NXT Championship.
As previously reported, current title holder Tommaso Ciampa recently underwent a serious neck surgery and is expected to be out of action for quite some time. A decision was made at last week’s television tapings that will effect the NXT Championship as well as the upcoming NXT Takeover: New York event during WrestleMania weekend.
Triple H kicked off this week’s episode of WWE NXT to officially announce that, unfortunately, the NXT Championship has officially vacated following Tommaso Ciampa’s recent neck surgery.
The original plan was for Ciampa to defend his prized possession against Johnny Gargano in an epic finale to their program TWO YEARS in the making. Obviously that will not be happening, but Triple H did confirm that Gargano would still get his opportunity to compete for the title in the main event of NXT Takeover: New York in less than three weeks time.
A blockbuster Fatal 5-Way match has been set for tonight’s show that will see NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream, Adam Cole, Ricochet, Aleister Black and the undefeated Matt Riddle battle it out with the winner also advancing to the upcoming Takeover main event.
What’s more, in order to truly determine who deserves to become the brand new NXT Champion, Johnny Gargano will face tonight’s winner in a Two Out of Three Falls match!
WWE has posted a video package of Brock Lesnar’s dominant history at WrestleMania. The Beast Incarnate has indeed delivered some of the most impressive performances that fans have ever seen on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
This countdown truly delivers, including his Brock’s win over Kurt Angle in 2003. Lesnar’s match with Roman Reigns from 2015 is also included, as well as the victory over Goldberg in 2017.
But perhaps the most infamous moment in Lesnar’s WrestleMania career came in 2014, when he beat The Undertaker, ending The Deadman’s undefeated streak at The Showcase of the Immortals. To this day, many WWE fans have still not moved past that controversial moment in pro wrestling history.
But Brock is moving on to WrestleMania 35 on April 7, where he will defend his Universal Championship against Seth Rollins. It’s Seth’s chance to bring the red brand’s top title back to Monday Night Raw. But it’s Lesnar’s chance to once again prove why he may ultimately earn the distinction of being the new “Mister WrestleMania.”
The decision to move Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar’s match for the WWE Universal Championship to the start of WrestleMania on Sunday was one made at the very last moment, according to a new report by PWInsider.com.
The original plan was apparently to have the bout go on immediately before the “Winner Take All” triple threat match for the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championships, as for some time those matches were being promoted as a double main event. In that case, Randy Orton and AJ Styles would have opened the show.
PWInsider noted that the final call was made around 3:30pm local time, only 90 minutes before the Kickoff Show went on the air. It was said that some people backstage weren’t even aware that the change had been made with everything going on at WrestleMania, and were surprised when Paul Heyman came out to interrupt Hulk Hogan’s celebration at the start of the show.
The reason behind their decision to move the match isn’t specifically clear, although Heyman did cut a promo stating that if Lesnar wasn’t the true main event, they weren’t going to wait around for five hours. For all we know that could have been true. For what it’s worth, the pacing of the show — especially in the first few hours — was greatly improved by the Universal title match kicking things off.
Killian Dain has confirmed the end of SAnitY during a recent tweet as the group have split up following the Superstar Shake-Up.
Whilst he didn’t physically appear on Monday Night Raw this week, a graphic was shown to highlight the fact that Eric Young has been drafted to the red brand, on his own.
Young was previously the leader of former WWE NXT faction, SAnitY, who has struggled to make a mark on the main roster, despite dominating and being former Tag Team Champions in NXT.
Dain sent out a tweet thanking both Young and fellow SAnitY member, Alexander Wolfe for their time together, stating it was the greatest time of his life, thanking the fans for supporting the group.
It seems that Wolfe and Dain will now remain on SmackDown Live, but it is unclear as to whether or not they will become a tag team or start singles careers in WWE.
Good luck @TheEricYoung Good luck @TheWWEWolfe
I'll miss you both terribly. Had the time of my life as part of Sanity!! You are phenomenal in the ring and outside of it.
Thanks to everyone who supported us 👊 pic.twitter.com/BKFxeb5kUE
Seth Rollins was interviewed in a backstage segment posted by WWE on its YouTube channel. In the interview, Seth reveals that he will wear his original Shield vest in The Shield’s Final Chapter, which will air on the WWE Network.
Rollins talked about what it means to him that this event is taking place in Moline Illinois, which is essentially his hometown.
.“I definitely did not think that of all the places we would do The Shield’s Final Chapter would be you know, in my own backyard, that’s for sure. So it’s going to be kinda doubly special, obviously, bringing the Universal title back back to my hometown for the first time sine WrestleMania, is awesome. And getting to share this moment and send Dean off you know, with all my friends and family there as well, I think it’s gonna only add to the moment and make it feel more special than it already does.”
The Shield’s Final Chapter pits Rollins, Ambrose and Roman Reigns as The Hounds of Justice against Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin. The match will air on April 21 at 9:30 pm EST, live on the WWE Network.
Many WWE fans are likely surprised that Dean is indeed leaving the company. It was believed to be nothing more than a work initially but that does not appear to be the case. Speculation online is that Ambrose was offered a big money deal to join AEW, but that has not been confirmed.
