“Some have claimed that these cases were distractions and that the president’s intervention has somehow improved the morale of our military,” Reed added. “On the contrary, President Trump’s disregard for our military justice system risks undermining the confidence of our service members in the rule of law and their chain of command — especially those who were courageous enough to bring allegations of war crimes to light and testify against their teammates.”

Last month, Trump restored the rank of Navy Chief Petty Officer Eddie Gallagher, who was convicted in the military justice system of posing with the corpse of an ISIS fighter but acquitted of murder. Trump later ordered the Navy to allow Gallagher to keep his status as a SEAL after news broke the Navy was reviewing his Trident pin.

Trump also last month pardoned Army 1st Lt. Clint Lorance, who was serving a 19-year sentence for ordering his men to fire on three Afghans, and Army Major Mathew Golsteyn, who had been awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to murdering an Afghan man.

In his comments Tuesday, Reed warned that failure to hold U.S. personnel to “appropriate standards of conduct” increases the likelihood they “will face similar abuses on the battlefield” and makes it less likely “we will be able to hold our enemies accountable.”

Weekly Roundup: Party Pieces

I’ve been doing holiday party shopping with clients recently, across a range of price points and dress codes, and here are some of the winners. Some casual, some formal, and lots in-between. I’m enjoying the less severe and more playful approach to holiday dressing these days. There is a lot more emphasis on comfort and warmth, instead of the plethora of skimpy sleeveless dresses we’re used to seeing at this time of year. Do festive YOUR way. Some items come in petite and plus, and often there’s more than one colourway. Let the festivities begin.

  • Calvin Klein Burnout Surplice A-Line Dress: If you like boho dresses and V-necks, try this frock and especially if you’re tall. The fabric is lovely and the drape even better. Elegant and comfy, and works on a range of body types.
  • Calvin Klein Plus Size Floral-Print Velvet Dress: A pretty and warm festive dress that has worked on a range of body types if you don’t mind the high neckline. Better on a regular and smaller bust. Comes in regular and petites.

Walker delivers rallying call to Man City 'family' after title setback

The Premier League champions have fallen 11 points behind leaders Liverpool after conceding a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Newcastle

Kyle Walker believes that the Manchester City ‘family’ will pull together to rescue their title challenge.

The Premier League champions fell further behind Liverpool after a surprising 2-2 draw at Newcastle that leaves them trailing the leaders by 11 points.

After two title-winning seasons when they amassed the highest-ever points tallies in English football history, City have not matched that high standard this campaign.

And Walker told his team-mates after the setback at St James’ Park that they must rediscover their spirit of last season when they overhauled a seven-point deficit to become champions.

“I have just said in there: ‘I look at you guys, you are my family’,” the England international said. “I see the lads on the bus more than I see my own kids.

“We are going to experience ups and downs throughout our playing careers together at Manchester City. Fortunately up to now it has been plain sailing. We have gone on and done what we have done.

“We are only human. We don’t go on to the pitch expecting to draw or lose but there are going to be mistakes in games. Some things will cost you games.

“But now I feel we have got to pull together as a squad and get the belief going again and make sure we do go on a run to put some pressure on the people above us.”

Last season a defeat at Newcastle proved to be a turning point, as City went on a 14-game winning streak to win the title by a single point and Walker says they must produce something similar if they are to have any chance of overtaking Jurgen Klopp’s side.

“That is what it will take,” he said. “The points gap is getting bigger now.

“We know we have the ability in the squad to go and do what we have done two seasons running. Hopefully we can do it again.

“We have to take our hats off to Liverpool at this moment in time. They have been fantastic and credit where it is due. They deserve to be top but it is not over until it is over as they say.

“We have the ability in the dressing room to go and catch anyone on our day. We have to take it game by game and keep chalking them off, getting three points and moving to the next one.”

City have been without key players for much of the season with long-term absentees Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte missing at Newcastle along with Sergio Aguero and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

But Walker says they can’t use injuries as an excuse for their disappointing form, commenting: “They are a great miss – both individually and collectively for the team.

“If you look back to our first season John [Stones] and Nico [Otamendi] played centre-half for most of the campaign and we destroyed the league.

“If you look at last season compared to the season before, Bernardo [Silva] didn’t play but he comes back and gets player of the season.

“With the quality we have anyone can come in and fill the spots.

“We are missing these players because they are good players. But there is more than enough ability on that bus to go and frighten any team.”

Taffy Dale – Mars Attacks! (1996)

Kolkata Leads The Way, Will Use Plastic Waste For Strengthening City’s Roads

Plastic is one of the biggest issues facing the environment because it doesn’t decompose and its particles have toxic elements that pollute the ground resources. Its disposal therefore is a huge problem.

Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh earlier this year banned complete use of plastic and asked local vendors and governments to promote the use of paper and jute bags as an alternative. However, Kolkata has a much better solution. They are going by the mantra, if you can’t beat it, better use it!

The city of joy has decided to experiment with plastic to make roads better in the city. The Times of India reported that the Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) has agreed to the use of plastic waste for establishing a kilometre of bituminous road stretch beside City Centre and New Town as an experiment.Click Here: Aston Villa Shop
