20 Minutes report that Ligue 1 side Nantes have identified their primary target to replace Emiliano Sala (who has joined Cardiff) as 28-year-old Marseille striker Valère Germain.

The French forward has scored just 3 goals so far this season and a loan deal is the sort of agreement that Nantes are seeking for the Marseille player who is currently under contract until 2021.

Nice are competing with Nantes for the player’s signature, but both are pessimistic about their chances of making a deal happen, owing to Germain’s astronomical salary of €300k a month.

Marseille want the player’s entire salary paid in the event of a loan deal.
