Although they only appeared in separate interview segments on SmackDown Live on Tuesday night, AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura actually competed in a pretty awesome dark match after the 205 Live taping at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
Styles defeated Nakamura in the dark match via disqualification, and according to live reports from those in attendance at the taping last night, the two worked a lot harder than you would think for a non-televised dark match.
The finish in the match, which came after a series of close, pay-per-view-level near falls, saw Nakamura hit Styles with a steel chair outside of the ring for the DQ. After the match was called, Nakamura continued the beatdown. However, when all was said and done, Styles fought back and laid Nakamura out with a Styles Clash.
In another dark match, Asuka defeated Sonya Deville before SmackDown Live started. This was said to be a pretty good performance for a non-televised dark match. Asuka picked up the win with the Asuka Lock.
